Still waiting for the slow goat from West Palm Beach. Who knew that 10 days post order, from a couple hours south of here I'd still be waiting? Anyway, needing something to assuage my grief, I swung by the store today at lunch and scored one of these:
Hekes Yes! Florida Water! Mike = check your PM's Bro! Today we have a nice size haul: Three brushes from PanChango / Dale = The Red Ever Ready 100 was re-knotted with a 20MM TGN Super Badger Fan and the Blue Ever Ready 89 was re-knotted with a 24MM TGN Extra stuffed Finest Badger. Then on top of it all, Dale gave me a sweet Apple Juice handle with a Finest Badger knot! SCHWEET! Thanks Dale! You Are Super Cool Mang! Also, from TSD Board Member Valerizzle we received a tub o' AOS Lavender SC! Very Nice! Thanks To The Wonder-Twins! In addition, from TSD Board Member Art Vandalay /Jeff a bottle of Grey Flannel A/S! Very nice Jeff! Thanks! Finally from fleabay, a trio o' vintage Gillettes! One is a '40's style Super Speed date code W-1 making it a 1st quarter of 1951 Steel Super Speed and another 40's style date code Y-2 making it a 2nd Quarter 1953 Steel Super Speed, plus a 1930's Short Comb NEW! Wow! Watta haul Ya'll!
Got home from work and this little gem from fleabay was on my table. I cant wait to give it a scrub and shave with it. Also yesterday a package from the queen. Burmese woods soap and AS and cedarwood SC and some colonge and scent samples. All wonderful
my first haul for the new year is a Smith & Wesson model 629 .44 mag with a 6 inch barrel (shown with hogue grips) also came with the original wooden grips and a couple of boxes of shells. This one will probably not be used, except as a collectors piece as my hands are bad enough that I'm not sure I could control it.
That's a great looking haul Jeff! I have been meaning to try the AOS Lavender ever since I got back from California. Lavender is huge out there. Although my collection of creams/soaps has grown quite a bit so I think I may wait until I get through some of them first before I start buying more...I think I already have a few years worth of product and part of me thinks that's a little silly. I just don't want them to go bad Yummmmmm...looks like a blast! (Pun intended :happy102 ) ......Someday.....
Very nice and a very nice shooter too. I owned a 4 inch version for years. If you don't reload, I would start. It costs me about $7.00 to load a box of 50 shells. 240 grain LSWC boolits over 7 grains of unique crammed in .44 special brass makes for a nice pleasant time at the range. ************ Not nearly as cool as your pistol, I was given an XD .45 compact yesterday. A belated Christmas gift from my brother.
I did gratefully. I'm more a fan of wheel guns, but that XD is a nice pistol. Here's my 629 Mtn Gun behind my 696 .44 special. http://ftpmyself.com/images/44s.jpg
The van? No, I already have that version. These are what I already had... Yes, that's a Palmolive double decker bus. haha!
I am not much of a car collector, but the odd one in the collection will only enhance it. You are definitely my brother from another mother.
This week's haul so far, got a few more things coming in. Did I get the right blades? I was looking for the "Israeli Personna," which I took to be the Personna Platinum Chrome, which these were listed as, and made in Israel. So I picked up 50, but I see a couple different kinds... at least I got my Wilkinsons! and picked up a razor and brush stand, stainless, and $13 shipped from Hong Kong...got here in less than a week! Had to bend it out a little out to fit my brush but it works like a charm. Then grabbed some AV Musk (which I like), and some Lilac Vegetal (which I do NOT!) maybe it'll grow on me... Also scored this sweet a$$ scale! old pitney bowes, not sure from when it's from but it's still perfectly accurate (FYI my Slim Adjustable weighs 2.6 oz...not that you all didn't know that)
Went to TJ max and scored a anthony logistics face kit for 25 bones and some shaving cream called DAVI reserve shave cream 6 0z for another 8. It will get a test drive in the AM
That's what people refer to as the "Red Pack" Personna. The "Israeli" Personna blades are in a blue and white wrapper and come in singles unless you buy a plain white box of 100. Israeli Personna:
An unexpected "haul". A family friend knowing I'm a wet shaver, brought this beauty by.I'm not a teacher, although I could be the head instructor from the School of Hard Knocks, but I'll put it to use anyway! Looks like the gang is getting 2011 off to a rousing start haul wise! I know that I'll be picking up a few more items along now that disability has been approved. First on my list is a good set of hones for my straights.
