Compliments of Dean, Polish shaving creams: Wars, Bond and Lider; really looking forward to using the Lider today! Thanks Dean!
One of my favorite all time DE razors. I had a DE87 and DE86 and sold them before Christmas as I thought the other DE razor I had would be enough. I was wrong. So I ordered me another DE87. This one will be with me until the chrome wears off.
Never tried the menthol, the classic can be bought in my local town center for £1.59 and the shave stick for 49p not bad Pitty about the lack of variety in town centers these days but can still get a bargin of two.
I really like that Lider. Really nice scent and makes an excellent lather. I've got the Bond too but don't really care for it. Haven't tried Wars before.
The 87 is my absolutely favourite of their whole lineup. Something about the faux ivory I think that sets it apart of so many that are just plain chrome or faux ebony which seem to be the most popular.
I shall give it a go one day I'm sure. Got too many soaps and creams right now. Waiting on my 3,000th-post PIF to clean out the den.
I received a Gold Schick Hydro-magic '500'. The case on the exterior is average for its age, but the razor inside is excellent.
Gary, its funny you mention Wars, the blades I'm sending you got soaked in Wars haha... Something pressed the tube in transit and it leaked out under the cap onto everything...
I got in this week this 1940s rhodium-plated British Gillette #16 Aristocrat. I've been wanting one for a while. Thanks to Jake for coming through and finding me one.
Congratulations my friend....Just Beautiful! and I bet a great shaver aswell... Like I said at the Injector SE Party; Thats got a heavy "If Aston Martin made a razor" thing going on...
My razors are on the way back from Bruno. I got a report back. Not as good as I would have hoped. I guess I will have to put it down to experience The Timor blade is of worst quality than the vintage Revisor. I could that in the honing process and confirmed it during the test shave. This brand is not very well regarded in the straight razor forums. I suppose it's the steel fault. Although it's from Solingen, it's not a very good blade. I suggest you shave with it and strop it thoroughly to improve the edge in the next shaves.
Good to know thanks Money be well spent elsewhere such as a Thiers Issard or Dovo I guess Haven't purchased a razor yet to match the quality of my refurbished Wade and Butcher (circa late 1800's)
