This Haul is for my good buddy Veli (dcc): some TSD ISZ Lanolin and Mama Bear Lemon Ice with a Weber Bulldog handle on the way. My Haul that Veli sent me: Top Ten Sensitive, SuperMax Menthol, Compass Sensitive, Top Ten Regular. All these creams come from Bulgaria and have a great reputation.
For me I have finally decided that Simpsons are the best. I now have my core of brushes clustered about 3 Simpsons. First is a Rover in Best Badger (for face lathering), next a Chubby 2 in Super Silvertip Badger (for bowl lathering) and this one received yesterday. A Jubilee in Manchurian Badger so far just for looking at. The rest of my brushes are just there to remind me not to take my Simpsons for granted.
Just ordered 96 5-packs of Super-max Platinum blades from the bay. That's 480 blades! For $36 shipped. Can't beat that.
Sheriff Judd here in Polk County was once questioned by a reporter as to why his Deputies shot a suspected cop killer 96 times. The reply was "because that is all the bullets we had." ..... So is that why you only bought 96 packs of blades? That is all they had?
I've been a little busy with brushes this month (at least I'm over the razor obsession I suffered from!) I'm drawn to interesting shapes and brushes that fit easily into my hand (paw)... A great haul today. The first pics are a custom handle made for me by Matt Marting, an artist on Etsy. Pics and words cannot describe how beautiful this thing is to look at and hold. My cousin (who doesn't even wet shave) said he's going to steal it. The second was supposed to be my first boar (WSP), a beauty that I won in a giveaway on another board. I can't wait to try it. The third is my first Semogue, the 2030B (I have since ordered the SOC, which I have to pick up from the PO on Saturday). Honestly, I don't shave enough (2-3 times a week) to justify having all of these brushes but... well... you know. And if they ever cross my path, there are two more I want to get - make that three... (I got the Injector next to the 2030B last Saturday at a swap meet for $.50).
AD has really been kicking in lately. I recently (and surreptitiously) bought 6 nasty, rusted up vintage razors on a whim from Ebay (currently hiding in a box of shame under the bed), a Gillette Fatboy that arrived today, and minutes ago, pulled the trigger on a fairly pricy new brush from The Superior Shave. Pics will follow in due course, but I have to ask, is there a known treatment for this?
Today I received some (200) polsilver SI blades. Bought from Veli (dcc) Great bloke to deal with, many thanks
If you change the blade 2 times a week for 200 blades,a little more than two years. I wish everyone to live 100 times more!
I only shave 2 times a week, at best. LOL So I guess that would net me about 4 yrs or so unless I change my blade more often than my 3-4 shaves (depending on the blade).
Got a package in the mail: Some Razorock Third Eye shaving soap and some Captains Choice Bay Rum. Can't wait to try out the new stuff.
