If my memory serves me correct Gillette stopped putting serial numbers on Old Type (and others) around 1929. You still have a great razor. NEW INFO. I checked and the no serial numbers on Old Types occurred after Aug 2, 1921. Also the Pat Date on the handle changed to Jan 13, 1920 instead of Nov 5, 1904. Also the thicker 102A cap was used. Your last pic show cap appears to be thicker?

    Couple more things this month.

A L7 Schick (Championship) that doesn't have the stripes half worn off. I've had a worn one for awhile but couldn't seem to find one in better condition without paying a hefty price. This one fit me nicely at $14.

And then a nearly full bottle of British Royal aftershave.

I tried a little bit of it earlier today when I opened the package by dabbing some on my wrists. I’m no scent describer but I’ll take a stab at it.

It isn’t very strong and has a distinctive tobacco smell to my nose. I thought it smelled faintly of leather but mostly like an ashtray (but not a leather ashtray).

I hesitate to say it smells like an ashtray, since some might wrinkle their nose at the thought, but for those who enjoy tobacco (or have enjoyed it) there are lots of associated scents before, during, and after smoking. And then, for some, there’s the smell of your dad or your uncle that you remember from childhood that might include notes of tobacco.

Maybe it smells like an ashtray in the library next to your favorite leather chair. Does that sound better?

I don’t know that I’ll wear it on date night but I think it will be most appropriate for a guy Saturday in the garage or workshop.

Then again, someone might tell me I remind her of dear old Dad.

They are very nice knots. There some other options out there but these are great price/performance.

Didn't want the sharp stuff in the kitchen to feel neglected, so I upgraded my knife strop too.

Nice haul John! Glad it came with the rope hahaha. Had a English Leather soap on a rope 3 bar set when I was a kid, those bars lasted forever.
