The Haul: June 4th - June 10th, 2012

I came back just now my from trip to New York City - in fact 7 hours than I was supposed to, and what a nice Haul was there waiting for me from a dear friend of mine in this Group!

So this is actually everything I got since the 30th, but I was just able to get the razor today (shipped to the wrong address)

I got my open comb Micromatic in the mail today!!!! I am very excited to use this guy. It's not as fierce looking as I thought it would be and it is in +95% mint condition.

The only downside is it is injector week.

Edit: I just want to say it is silver...the picture is just really bad because I didn't use a flash.

I purchased a couple vintage Listerine bottles, and promptly filled them with Pinaud Club and Florida Water.

After witnessing dramatic effects in wine decanting, I just had to try. Seems to be working.

The postman delivered a package today. In the package was my newest member of my Den. I recently purchased a Semogue Owners Club with a cherry wood handle.

maybe it is time to retire or trade the King Parker Badger.

 

I'm glad your cherry wood looks like that too. When I compare the cherry wood boar to my cherry wood badger there is a huge difference. The boar is much lighter in color than the badger. I almost thought I mistakenly received one of the ash wood handles. But yours here looks just like mine at home.

Here's a pic where you can see the 2 brushes and how different they look for both being cherry wood. Maybe they are just stained a bit different...

 

I see the difference the badger handle is darker, maybe a different stain or coating?

Thought I was done buying razors for a while but I could not say no to this $7 beauty

 

Very nice brush, but that looks like Ash to me. I have an Ash 2000 and a Cherry SOC boar and the boar handle looks like the pic of the badger that Brian posted. It took forever and a day, but once broken in, the SOC is a really nice brush.

Two items this week. A Fatip Piccolo and a Weber bulldog razor handle.

 

Well then it seems like Bruno is sending out Ash SOC boars when the cherry is ordered accidentally. I initially thought it looked like ash especially when compared to the 2-band cherry, but it's not a big deal to me. I enjoy the variety.

 

I prefer the Cherry myself, but really both of those suit the SOC perfectly. I find mine breaking in quickly (Before I left, I miss it badly!) and love every shave. Can't wait to try the badger SOC.
