Received a package a couple of days ago with some new stuff from PAA. Something to look forward to during the lock down. I can't wait to break it in tomorrow starting my fourth week of using my straight razor daily.

Yankee razor circa 1904 made by the Reichard and Scheuber Manufacturing Company.
    yankee1.jpg yankee2.jpg

This company you might know better for another brand of razor that also came out in 1904 the Ever Ready. I don't know if they ever did rename the company to Yankee Razor Company as has been stated elsewhere but do know they were only an independent company for 3 years until 1906 when they merged with American Safety Razor.

Wow. Someone either spent a lot of time cleaning and polishing that case, or it's just very minty looking. Beautiful.

The only flaw in the case is that the hinges are broken and the top just rests on the bottom half of the case.

Some 1903 ads with the first instance of the smiling face known for Ever Ready razors. Notice how they are trying to piggyback on the more the established Gem brand for the dealer pricing advert.

I have been cutting back on my razor purchases recently, but a deal came along to buy a British Everready 1912 for $3.50 + $10.00 shipping and that is a rarity on _bay. I wanted to see and feel if it is a different razor than my USA Gem 1912 razors. Visually there are not many differences, tomorrow it will be given a shave. ASR built a plant in England in 1936. They produced this model from 1936-53 so this razor falls in there some where of this time line! They were built for UK commonwealth and that was a huge market & this one ended up in the Canadian Market. Very good shape considering it's travels and age.
This razor has been cleaned but it was cared by previous owner well and did not need a lot cleaning.

    Ever Ready 1909.

As you can see here it has a push button that is different from the earlier 1909 design.

    1982 - 1984 for the L1 and 1982 - 1984/86? for the Type M adjustable.
    schick80s.jpg

That adjustable handle style is not documented in the Appleby designations. That handle style was introduced in 1980 according to my research and the ones between 1980 and 1982 didn't have any Schick logo on the razor. In 1982 they started putting logos on the adjustables also the same year they changed the logo style for all injectors razors. This is the same logo style as seen on the later Type N razors. The adjustable my research points to them not being stocked by retailers after about 1984 but Warner Lambert was offering them for sale through mail at least as late as 1986 if customers asked for one.
