So after months of lurking and learning from reading… and mostly learning by doing.. which means, a great deal of nicks, cuts and blood…. Did I mention blood? I finally got to the point that I am now comfortable with shaving. This moment happened this past Sunday when I had the best shave to date… but not a BBS shave. So here is my first post! After a long holiday, and a less than shave orientated Christmas Hall (time to get a little more specific in the future) I headed out last night to a local Men’s Salon and bought myself my own present. Truefitt and Hill 1805 Shave Cream… heck, why not get a ‘high-end’ shave cream once in your life! So after not shaving Tuesday I had myself a nice little bit of stubble to work with. Woke up this morning and changed the routine a little. Took my bowl and brush and sat it under running hot water. While doing this I took my now beloved 98% restored 1966 Gillette Slim set at 3 and popped in a brand new Red Personna. Turned on the shower and moved that damn hot bowl and brush to the rack in the shower. Warmed myself up for a bit, then grabbed the T&H and dropped a little into the bowl and began to lather… hmmm… nice scent! Lathered my faced and grabbed the Slim… 1st pass… WTG Hmmm… nice… 2nd pass… XTG Hmmm… very nice… And damn, this 1805 is great cream! And then as I felt my face a little voice screamed… “Time for ATG!” Any attempt prior with a cartridge razor ended in disaster…. “Oh.. do I dare?”, I asked myself Grabbed the brush and lathered up one last time… Picked up the Slim… And began ATG on the neck… “Oh oh oh… this is working!” Then I moved off to the cheeks, then the chin.. and finally off to under the nose… No nicks, no cuts, no blood! Finished up, washed the face with some water and finished off with some cold water on the face. Got out of the shower, dried off the razor and moved off the sink where I got dressed, then brushed my teeth and then applied some Nivea After Shave Balm. And while applying the Balm I noticed… “Hey now… I’ve got a BBS!” :happy005 Thank you to one and all for all that you have shared to make this moment possible! Happy Shaving!

I'm glad for you. I have had nothing but luck thus far and hate to hear someone have a less than easy time with DE shaving. BBS smooth & shine is such a cool thing. Well I don't reckon a baby's butt shines very much but you all know what I mean.
Awesome. I can only shave ATG using a DE and even with a DE a few razor blade combinations don't work. Glad you're having sucess. T&H is my favorite of the three T's and 1805 is my favorite T&H cream scent (until they make Spanish Leather cream).
