I posted a few shots over in "The Haul" but here are a few after I got it all shined up.

    After a TarnX treatment.

Finally after some TLC, a few passes across the buffer, and some polish.

This razor was quite a pleasant surprise. I had no idea what finish it was when I bought it. Now I know what to look for to make more of these "Naked Techs".

That's some serious TLC it has recieved! Very nice job.

What do you use for buffing and polishing?

:happy096: "VERY" nice job!! I'm a fan of the polished brass and copper look also. Although I've never tried it I wonder if coating the razor with laquer or some other clear coat would help to keep it from re-tarnishing?? :)

Really nice! +1 on the well done.

Edit: I have never tried this product but supposedly works well as a clear coat for copper jewelry and brass. It is safe for skin contact and is reversible and will not yellow. It can be sprayed on or dipped.

Nice clean up! Now, be sure to sell it on eBay as a "limited edition, ultra-rare two-tone." Reserve pricing of at least $100.

youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

I've never heard of nakeds before, this mean there's no plating?

"Naked" because all the plating was shot to blazes. Not a specific model.

The plating was all removed by some process a while ago. It wasn't worn off, too clean. This was on purpose.

I use a dremel and a buffing wheel on my grinder (6in). For a compound I have found the Weiman polish found at Walmart is inexpensive and does an amazing job.

And thanks for all of the compliments!!

  18. There appears to be two distinct colors/metals in this razor. Are the cap and handle made of different metal than the base plate or is this just from varying degrees of plating loss?
Either way it is beautiful and unique.

The cap and most of the handle are copper. The baseplate and top of the handle are brass.
