Hello shave den here is the result of my RAD in a little over two months of wet shaving. from left to right, Merkur 38C, Maggard MR5 with V3 head, MTO my first razor, Scotch and Stowe fatty handle with Maggard V3A head, Phoenix DOC, Maggard V2 OC head with phoenix handle and last my Gillette 1952 SS that I'll be trying tonight. I also want to add a few more vintage Gillette to the collection like a Fatboy and a Slim .
Nice group so far. Now that you're looking at vintage you've really started down the rabbit hole! They're is no cure...resistance is futile.
Off to a good start! The vintage path can definitely fuel the RAD! An adjustable would be an excellent addition to the den! (Not trying to be an enabler, I promise!)
A fine collection. You will need to pick up a pair of sunglasses so you can stare at all that shine...might damage your eyes. And yes...no point in resisting...just fall down the rabbit hole...
Wow ... I feel your pain. I too have gotten rad. I have the following -weishi -merkur long handle -red tip -66 slim adj. -Gillette tv special. I keep trying to resist but I can't.. I keep checking the web for more!! I'm currently looking for a 1975 v-2 black beauty adj. ( my birth year and qrtr)
I will soon be looking for a birth year black beauty also 1977. I mentioned in other threads that I have a trip to Europe in April with the military and I'll be hunting for some gems out there
Now go out and get yourself an SE injector razor (Schick, Pal). Whole new rabbit hole, well worth exploring.
I am trying the all little by little but so far I can say that the Maggard MR5 and the Merkur 38C are in the lead. I just tried the Gillette super speed and I really liked it, I have to give it a few more shaves to see if the Gillette will take the lead. Lol[/quote]
My Muhle is my only new razor...only because I was given a $100 AOS gift card and wanted a non consumable present. It looks nice, even used it a few times, but I prefer any of my vintage gillette's over it.
I've said it before. Coming to The Shave Den reduce RAD is like like jumping in the ocean to reduce moisture.
