SHAVING RELATED INTERESTS: I love the straight shave. I have tried DE razors but they scare the pants off of me. I do like other safety razors though. I also am an avid rockhound and make hones from natural rock harvested in my area
SHAVING EQUIPMENT YOU HAVE: I have a lot. Probably too much. 150ish straights, several safety razors, a handful of brushes and strops and enough soap for at least five years.

First and foremost, thank you for your information. I would have no earthly idea how to use local minerals to make anything.

I am more apprehensive about straight razors than double edged razors. I am curious what scares you.

 

Probably because when I raise the razor to my face I cannot see where the edge is. I feel I have way better visuals and control with a straight razor. I am always very uncomfortable using a DE. I have a few and have tried several different blades in the hopes of finding my place with a DE, but it never feels safe. I do not have very many shave with a DE but have been bit good, twice.

 

Sounds like a therapy session taking place outside the context of the Acquisition Disorder thread…

 

Actually my razor acquisition is not a problem for me. It is true that I have acquired quite a few but i enjoy it so it is not a problem. My problem is not being able to keep them well organized. ;-)
