Netherlands indeed. I made the scent orginally for the Dutch wetshaving forum. Varen is the Dutch word for "fern."
First, I want to say that Stirling is a great company. I am a relative newcomer to the Stirling customer fan base. I have bought Sandalwood, Piacenza, Coconut Lime, Satsuma, Bay Rum and Glastonbury shave soaps (5.8 oz jars) and the matching 100ml aftershaves. They were 2 separate orders and each one had a free sample. That was a nice touch. My only disappointment is with the Glastonbury scent. It has a clean fragrance similar to fabric softener, but to get the aroma I have to stick my nose in the container with the cover closed on my nose. The lather performs well, but the scent is very faint and almost nonexistent. Every other scent is fine.
You serious! Ok, I am torn now! Lemony Orange was KILLER!!!! But Satsuma is NO slouch either! Why do you do this to us lol
Thank you so much. It was such a cool experience and I am so proud of y wife. She really has come a long way
This is VERY strange. My jar of Glastsonbury might be my strongest scented Stirling soap that I have. Easy 7 maybe an 8. Even the sample I bought was pretty strong. I have found that all of Rod's mutton tallow soaps are pretty strong
I saw one of your You Tube videos extolling the Glastonbury scent. I thought you were nuts! Lol! Seriously, the only explanation is that I have a bad batch or my sniffer doesn't work for this scent. I have to say that I am not the only fella that has not found this scent spectacular! By the way, I invite you to join the 30 DC group on The Shave Den.
