It's cold but I like cold. By the 2nd pass it's comfortable. Third pass I am cruising (it may be that I am numbed and no longer feel it). The Osage had some kind of crazy reaction with the soap and set off a polar party on my face. Eyes watering, nose running, sitting there smiling because I can feel the pressure leaving my head.

I feel the same way. I always loved the feeling of menthol during and after a shave. No other creams or soaps I've used ever had this kind of potent cold sensation and I've used a lot of stuff from all over the world. I really enjoyed three passes with the MITA this morning and got a great BBS shave.

We spend most of our time here talking software, as it should be, but I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the crazy good brushes Rod and Mandy offer.

Wherever Rod sources these knots from, he has something great going on here. While I expect (know) the tips are treated at the price point, what great performers they are. They're firm enough to feel like a 2 band finest, but gel tipped soft like you spent three times the money or more; dense enough to use the term dense, just nice looking knots all the way around.

The badger brush world turns a lot of people away. There is no real standard to type them, and the cost of some of them is crazy if you aren't a die hard. I haven't tried a badger anywhere that competes with these in terms of a performance to cost ratio. If you haven't tried one, I would recommend picking one up, even if you own high end stuff. You might be surprised.

For Menthol Monday coming I'll be finishing off the Glacial Lemon Chill bowl which I bought in 2015. I can't believe it lasted this long. I've got a beautiful new one as a back-up, but I'm sure I'll wind up buying a new one anyway.

Tried Sandpiper and for some reason the scent reminded me of a Mary Jane candy. Lather was great as always but just didn't care for the scent. Luckily, it was from the pass around box and so once and done.

    Might try Gentleman tomorrow.....

I didn't care for the scent of Sandpiper in the pass around, but I received a bath sample with an order and quite enjoyed it. I'm not sure if the samples in the Box Pass were "contaminated" by all the other soaps or what, but you may want to revisit it at some point.

I just finished mine from 2015 the week before last. That and a tub of Gin and Tonic from the same year. I will likely replace the Gin and Tonic. The Glacial Lemon probably not.

Jared, the more I think of it the more I feel like buying the Gin & Tonic on the Rocks. I'm surprised you're not too keen on the Glacial Lemon Chill. What was it about it that you didn't like?

It was fine, I just prefer orange or lime to lemon. Or lemony orange even more so. Between having a tub of Glacial Lemony Orange, a Glacial MITA and a tub of Limes that I M-Bomb, I am pretty well covered.

I will probably just re-buy the straight Gin and Tonic and bomb it when I want it frozen.

I myself am not really a fan of orange-scented stuff so for that reason I'm not too gung-ho about buying the Orange Chill. On the other hand, I would also like to get the Grapefruit Menthol and we both know how I feel about the Glacial MITA. BTW, if you bomb a soap, can you get it to be Glacial cold?

I hope to get going with my Sandpiper Aftershave this week. I've used it just one since getting it. Bad. Bad. Need to crank it up!

You can get it there, but it takes a lot. It also depends on how big a bowl of lather you make. That's fine with me, as lately I am finding I prefer my soaps a little less cold. It isn't the feel of it, but now that I am straight shaving exclusively, I like to feel my face a little more.

There's still hope for my Glacial Lemon Chill bowl!

I still have a refill puck of this same soap that I forgot I even had so what did I do? I removed what little was left and put it in the container that the puck is in. This way I get to keep this green container and I can use it as a lathering bowl for a few creams I have which seem to bowl-lather well. It was my wife who found this Lemon Chill puck!

I see what you mean - a Glacial level freeze could be sort of tricky if you're using a straight razor.
