Week 2, Day 2 Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade Coffee: Wegmans Traditional, BLACK Tunes: Pandora Shuffle Razor: Futur @ 3 Blade: Voskhod, day 2, 3 passes Brush: Semogue 2000 Cream: Tabac Post: Cold water rinse, Brut ASB, Brut cologne 'Stache Care: Dirigo Blue 'Stache Stuff, Dirigo Blue Wax Darn near BBS. Lovin' how the Dirigo Blue 'Stache Stuff has been conditioning the 'bar.
Was just messing with you, but that gave me an idea to try and see if I canget a whole week usage of one blade with daily shaves. I usually throw a blade after its 3rd usage. I'm curious if I can go a whole week with it and have comfortable shaves
As was I with you. Certainly something to try. I know I can get at least 7 shaves from an Astra SP before I start to feel the tug. But by putting a fresh blade in every Monday and tossing it after Friday's shave, I never get the point of an uncomfortable shave. Monday through Friday also eliminates having to try and remember, "How many shaves on this blade? Was it Saturday, or Friday, I changed it? *shave, shave, OUCH!* musta changed it Thursday."

Week 2, Day 4 Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade Coffee: Wegmans Traditional, BLACK Tunes: Pandora Shuffle Razor: D3 SS TV Blade: Voskhod, day 3, 4 passes Brush: Omega 11574 Soap: Golddachs Sport, a PIF from @John Beeman , whipped up in a very cool mug from John. I'll try to get a pic in for ya'll. Post: Cold water rinse, Dickenson's WH, Curve 'Stache Care: Dirigo Blue 'Stache Stuff, Dirigo Blue Wax I've had better shaves. Bit of a post shave burn.
Interesting. Yesterday was three passes with the FatBoy wide open for a great shave. Today, four passes with an SS and you had a little burn. One wouldn't expect the burn with the milder razor. Do you suppose it was the extra pass? Ps. The handlebar mug goes great with your gear.
Ooops. Those numbers should have been day 4, 3 passes. I'll blame the burn on a degrading blade. I really like the mug. I use it at least once a week (I have 8 other mugs). Proudly on display on the vanity.
I do it all the time on many different blades. Once got 14 three pass shaves on a single Gillette 7 O'clock Permasharp. I bought a few hundred Voskhods the last group buy so I've been using them for the last year mainly, with some stragglers mixed in from samplers here and there.
Week 2, Day 5 Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade Coffee: Wegmans Traditional, BLACK Tunes: Pandora Shuffle - added Swing Masters Radio* Razor: Aristocrat Blade: Voskhod, day 5, 3 passes Brush: Ever Ready 200T with original boar knot Soap: Irisch Moos grated into bowl Post: Cold water rinse, Dickenson's WH, B&BW Oak 'Stache Care: Dirigo Blue 'Stache Stuff, Dirigo Blue Wax Today's shave just proves the point I made back on Monday - this blade is finicky about what razor it goes in. Yesterday's shave left me with a bit of a burn. Last Friday I declared this was a "3 and out" blade. Today's shave was very comfortable and darn near BBS. *Funny, maybe not. From the 20s and 30s, I dig the Blues. From the 30s and 40s, I really enjoy the Big Band sound and Swing. From the 60s and 70s, even some into the early 80s, I can listen to Classic Rock, even some Pop, all day. From way back when 'til now, can't go wrong the Blues no matter when they came out. But I just can't get into the 50s stuff.
Well I thought it was me, but I guess it's the blade, first time I thought I had a rusty pea can lid in my Merkur Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
