    Hi guys,
I'm thinking of starting my shave in the morning after shower. Now, I'm a bit confused about my after shave chore. After shaving, one will apply an aftershave but after its application is it okay to use a daily moisturizing cream(the one which I use after my shower on my face)?
And also I want to know the right way to use an aftershave(I've been using it but not sure whether I'm doing it properly).
And one more question what is a cologne, how to use it?
Sorry for asking so many questions in one thread. :ashamed001

Cologne is not aftershave. It is not supposed to be used on the face after a shave. Cologne is a light perfume, which is meant to be used on the body, or around the back of the neck, on the wrists, or behind the ears. Never on the face. :)

Thanks for replying, why then cologne is there on every wet shaving forum?

I imagine it is an extra item to use after a shower and a shave.

Many Perfumers make the same scent in a cologne and an aftershave. I think that the scent of the aftershave is slightly less potent than the cologne, and I think it is due to more alcohol in the aftershave....???

Check this thread out about the difference.

I don't see why you couldn't use a moisturizer before or after applying aftershave. Try it both ways. See what you like best. The only problem I see (and it may not be one for you) is if you use a heavily scented moisturizer. It may over-ride and scent you may have put on BEFORE the moisturizer.

As for using aftershave (AS), I pour a little into my hands, rub my hands together, the slap it all over where I've just shaved. I like scented AS, like Brut. If I'm using a scented AS, I won't use a cologne. If, however, I'm using an unscented AS, such as witch hazel, then I may use a scented AS or cologne just to smell nice.

For using cologne, read again what Jeff (crackstar) had to say. That's how I use it.
