Last weekend I turned my heat off. What a relief! The price of heating oil was killing me this winter. We were spending $300+ per month to heat our house. Right now it's warm enough to turn the heat off, but not hot enough that we need to run A/C. So we get a brief respite from high utility bills.
We're going to hit 80's this weekend. I don't envy you your heating bills. My biggest bills are @ $275 and that's November/December when we have all the Christmas lights going. Normally, the heat is off or set to 65 at night so it does not come on much. My most favorite time of year is September/October. Especially, when I lived in MA. Not too hot during the day and you get that "snap" in the morning. Gilroy in the summer is great. Hot as heck during the day but once the sun goes down it cools into the mid 60/low 70 range. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine or port and a cigar or pipe in my quiet neighborhood is a real blessing in this world of chaos.
Agreed. My favorite season is Fall... by far. Crisp mornings. Toasty, hot chocolately marshmallow evenings. And best of all... leaping... into... leaves!!
Spring and fall. My two favorite seasons. First, to see things come to life. And to see them end. Budding trees, roses, etc. And then to watch the leaves change colors and fall. Unfortunately, I've never made it to New England in the fall. Maybe some day. St. Croix
