I started with a lord l6 which I'm still using. Then I ordered a bag of cookies from the TSD store and got the stubby handled Gillette. THEN I got crazy went on EBAY got a single edge Gem Micromatic open comb I know nothing about really. While I was there, I bid on two Razors, which I guess (I know I'll be corrected if I am wrong) are another tech and a superspeed The Superspeed is has an A1 date code. The Brass Tech is weird to me, none of the pictures I've seen have a copper head like this one, and it's got some copper color staining on the handle, I don't really know what that's about. Sorry about the blurry pictures, My camera apparently does not like close up photography...it's pretty cheap.
The finish has worn away I believe. The razor peeps can confirm or deny that. Nice collection so far. Have you shaved with each of them yet?
Thanks, It's not much, just stuff I put really low ebay bids on and won. Not sure exactly what I own, but it's fun to have!
If it shave's good im happy with what I buy some times I sell a few razors to fund a purchase for something else that I see on ebay or to make room for stuff im getting from else where. .
Nice. Yup - the finish is gone and all ya gots left is copper. Shouldn't affect your shave, though, unless you're allergic to copper.
Wonder how it happened, it's copper inside and out, looks like it came that way...heh Everything I got is usable....I could probably even pretty it up if I wanted
Dude, that's pretty commendable restraint. I couldn't do it. I got one razor then another, sold one, bought 3....Next thing I knew there were blades in all of them and I was trying to stay alive. I finally calmed down and got my technique right but it took a few months before I actually started listening to people on here and kept as few variables as possible. Now I can shave with any razor out there. Except carts, they scare me
I'm finding that I can get my face chewed off just fine by switching only blades. I'll try out new razors when I buy my first 100 pack.
It MAY be why people say not to boil your gold plated razors to sterilize - it takes the finish off. Don't know for certain as I've just taken the advice and never done it.
The superspeed and the Tech are probably both good candidates for a refinishing of some kind. Probably not too great an idea to send them off for replating though, too many dents and dings, but I only payed 5 bucks for the two of them.
