oookay :) To me it just looks scary, like shaving oneself with a engine valve or something. :)

Exactly my thought! It looks scary! I'm sure tempted to have a closer look at it, but not at that price!

(I love the alias of the seller though! :rofl)

    Wow,

Certainly an interesting design, I wonder how it shaved? I'll stick to the straights :)

It's for shaving underarms. I have a couple smaller round razors by another maker in my collection. What I can't figure out is how the blades were honed and stropped.

Wow! According to this page, he made one with a spring mechanism in the handle that slowly rotated the blade. THAT sound dangerous! Though it might be good for cutting cheese as was suggested. :)

Under "Exhibitions" click on "Electric Safety Razors". The Collins is the 3rd item. Clicking on the links will bring up a picture. Some other cooll stuff on that page too.

Also check out pages 48 & 49 in the Collector Encyclopedia

It seems to have been produced about 1920, but I can't find how long it was in production. Anyone have a copy of Waits' Safety Razor Compendium (CD)?
