Really considering this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-Gille...brand=Gillette&_trksid=p2060778.c100276.m3476
I had no idea they were commanding that much money! I think I got mine for $10. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

The first two I bought had corrosion but I eventually got a pristine example with original case for less than $20.
I paid about the same for my minty example. Of course mine also came with a fairly minty red tip and a cased I4 super speed, also in minty condition. Edit: this was a few years ago. Maybe someone saw the price of a blue tip rocket and thought all blue tips were worth that much?
I just saw a Hull Pottery Old Spice mug listed for $130 (plus shipping) that would go nicely with an over priced razor.
I have a Grand Turk Hull mug in immaculate condition. Anytime someone wants to pay me $130 for it, they just need to hit me up. ...and pay shipping. Because I like having it and I don't want to sell it. Edit: I looked up the mug on eBay. It's the ship friendship, a second run hull mug, not even all that collectible. It's like comparing a Gillette Single Ring to a Gillette Double Ring.
More people getting into collecting will increase the price along with hype whether it is deserved or not on the wet shave forums. Biggest example of this is the Fatboy adjustables there is still no shortage of people who pay way over what they should be valued because of the hype. Considering there is probably still millions of them available the price point should be at about the same average price as a Gillette Slim.
