The last in a series of three threads.

What three (and please limit it to three / no honorable mentions) products for shaving do you want to try in 2014. This time I will not start but will chime in later on. Remember to keep it clean.

    O.K. begin!

    1) Gem Junior-just getting into SEs and this is a popular one
    2) MMOC- one of the most aggressive shavers is its reputation
    3) Cella-my good experience with Proraso red has me wanting to try other Italian soaps and this is one of the best rated.

As to the razor, do you prefer long handles or short handles. Merkur 37c is short 39c is long. What ever you like in the handles you use is a good indicator of which way you should go next.

I will be trying another scent of HTGAM Synergy shave soap in tomorrow's shave. The Bay Rum scent is excellent.

O.K. so what is on your list of three.

The soaps are on order and will arrive just before New Years. But, they won't get used until after that, so I'm counting them. :D

Mystery item? I'll know it when I read about it. You know how it goes... you think you've tried everything you could possibly want to use, ever. Then you just have to have / try something else that you just read about.

    1. Petal Pushers soap. Either Black Tea or Unscented.

    2. Ingram Extra Cool. This one comes in a green tube and it's made in Egypt.

    3. Razorock soap. Not sure of the scent. Either XXX, Captain's Choice Bay Rum, or ABCBA.

    1.) Vintage Merkur Progress
2.) A safe slant of some sort.. if there is one!
    3.) TBD

I have MDC and love it as will anyone that tries it. The stuff seems like it will last forever! If there was a way to shave some off safely I'd be glad to shoot out a couple samples but don't want to ruin the nice flat top.

Either the 37 or 39c will do the job! I suppose it depends on if one likes the extra heft of the Sledgehammer's handle (I did!). Both are extremely efficient with a fairly shallow learning curve, unlike...
Straight razor shaving—where the steep learning curve simply takes time to master properly; where slow & steady with ample concentration seem to be some of the keys to early success.
