So we always hear about the next monster brush (28mm, 30mm, 32mm, etc), but what about the smaller brushes? I put a "Chubby" 1 in for scale. Let's see your tiny brush pics.
I have two that I'd consider "small", a "Maw of London" and a "Solid Set" The Maw of London one, with the metal tube and bakelite cap: The Solid Set and its bakelite tube: Here they both are flanking an SOC boar brush to provide a sense of scale:
The only smaller brush I have is an Art of Shaving travel brush. I seldom use it since I find it to be too floppy. But it works just fine, and get the job done.
The massive brush on the right is a Wee Scot, for reference. Left to right: Original Wee Scot (called a Nano Scot), Culmak goathair? brush, Kent H275 boar brush, a modern Wee Scot. Edit: and to show off the size difference, here they are next to my biggest brush.
WOW, That Calmak is even smaller than the nano Wee Scot. I've seen pics of a tiny Plisson. Great set of small brushes.
Here is a photo of my smallest brush beside two of my smaller travel brushes for comparison. I dont know much about the Imperator brush other than it is appears to be NOS.
Is your Geo F Trumper the Pure Badger one? I have one and I think I really dislike it. It's the only badger brush I've ever had that when you use paint strokes develop a hard "ridge" that it very unpleasant. I'm hoping it's a breaking in thing though...only used it 2-3 times.
Mines a Super badger?? It seems pretty pretty decent although ive only used it twice. One of the only brushes ive bought new. I was in a high end store and it was all I could afford It has shed a fair amount, which i hope is some new brush thing.
Ah, a different beast then. I have another pure badger brush as well that I kinda dislike so I guess I will stay away from them going forward. Mine sheds as well btw.
I've been trying to wheedle that brush away from him since before he first got it in the mail. Good luck!
