Congrats, Joseph! Beautiful brush. Did you also get a new lather bowl?

Congrats on the brush Joseph. It does require some black hair surgery.

Last evening, I donned my surgical gown and began the process of black-hair removal.

Congratulations on another 3017 done and gone! @Primotenore just is not the same when you are absent, you must be his muse :happy102:

My prison shank blade is back with new shoes and sharp edge thanks to @gssixgun. The razor is easy to handle so I am happy it is back in action. This 3017 is off to a good start.

Haven't given much thought to my next 3017. Maybe next week.
Today's shave was very satisfactory, using the above-pictured tools.
The dubl duck knot is ever-so soft, now that I removed the majority of
    black bristles.
Finished the shave with a stank that is probably the first "oud" cologne, marketed here in the west.

    Valobra Fougère~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~Dovo 91~~Vintage Brut
@Keithmax inspired my last two stank choices...and fantastic stanks they be.
While today is cold and cloudy and not a particularly great day for a fougère, the Brut excelled.
Valobra was a top-rated, Italian soap and quite literally, a little goes a long way.

A bit "airy" for my tastes, but still performed well.
The Dovo 91, with its barber's point, left a few marks to remember it by.

Some old-school soap today. The AoS (Volobra) never, ever disappoints.
Still a very strong scent. Outstanding protection and a lovely post-shave feel.

Getting some straight razor shaves in before I hit the air and the road. Koraat 14 bellied hollow and a Brian Brown bellied hollow. A couple of singing razors that also have very nice edges.

    p - 2.jpeg

For my flight day shave I went with my Iwasaki famous name JWest razor. It does take a fine edge. I found this Boyd's brand made by Plisson brush in shave closet for ill behaved shaving goods. I remembered that this had a scritchy knot but it felt soft. Well, once it was and full of lather I felt the scritch. I like the handle so I think I will just try replace the knot. My on the road 3017 is a stick of lemony goodness, Arko!

@Primotenore Great looking shaves Joseph. I am still working on my 3017 and with the huge container of Santa Maria Novella Cream it will take a very long time.

I am strongly considering abandoning my 3017 attempts and just enjoy the soaps I have. Honestly at this point I am too lazy to pull different soaps out of the cabinet. ;)
