So my C&E (Crabtree and Evelyn) soap was worn down to nought but a donut when it came 'round in the rotation for use today. My Razorock Beehive synthetic was the brush of the day. Going at the soap as I always do resulted in that slim donut breaking apart. I did manage to get plenty of lather for the shave. Afterwards, I put the pieces in a bowl that already had scraps from a puck of TOBS Sandalwood and vintage Williams (@Primotenore that puck you gave me will be used to the very end!).

Next I added a sliced up quarter piece of VdH Deluxe to act as a binder. 1673706566560.jpg
Two 12-second rounds in the microwave and a bit of a stir...

    Into the rotation it goes!
    I don't like waste.
What do you do with your scraps?

    Camillus?

I use and reuse all soaps of any type but I've never melted any before. Might try it.

Yup. 4 line. Sword brand stamped on the tang. Good eye.

Gotta know your soaps. The TOBS and Williams don't melt in the microwave, thus the need for the VdH. That stuff melts quick and easy without overheating a tallow soap.

Gotta be careful with tallow soaps in the microwave. Or so I have heard.

When soaps get down to the broken ring stage, I just pile the pieces of ring up in the center and smush them back down into the bottom of the container.

    Seems to work so far.

Yeah, I've done that for the past umpteen years. It works. I got a wild hair and thought I'd try something different.
