    You should try looking up your Soldier in the NA. If you don't get anywhere, send me a PM with his particulars. Because of his studies in Civil War history, my youngest has researchers access to military records.

    I read somewhere that the military had a contract with JR Torrey for straight razors during the Spanish American War but haven't looked into too deeply.

    Thanks a lot RetLEO. Actually I found the guy (as You can read all about in part 2 - which i am posting today), but it would be very intersting to see what your son cold find out in a search!
    Theres actually a lot of threads I would like to follow in the NA, I guess i'll get to it eventually. Right now I have got a lot of info, that I am translating into these posts. The story is growing every time I find a new document. That's the magic of historical research. You never know where you are going to end up :)
