The lather looked promising but soon I realized reality. The lather held up for a couple of passes before I needed to whip it back up. Not much lubrication my '63 SS wanted to stick to my skin and I got soem moderate to severe razor burn on my neck and under my chin. I'd rather use Williams soap or Kiss my Face any day. I'm gonna see it my girlfriend can use it cause I sure can't.
Worked fine for me.... I took a chance & bought this, despite the previous poster's panning of TJ's cream. I already had the honey/mango version & thought it performed ok, but found the scent too sweet for my tastes. Anyway, shaved with it today using a R. Becker scuttle, a Vie Long horse hair brush & a Rainbow blade in a US Aristocrat (OC). I used a pretty good dollop, seeing as we have extra-hard water. It lathered up ok & while it wasn't a super fluffy lather, it was enough for multiple passes & it did a decent job of lubricating & protecting my face. I ended up with a perfectly decent shave. I didn't need to buy this - I have a bunch of creams already, including some high end ones. I was just curious to try it. As always. YMMV, but I find Trader Joe's Shave Cream to be a good product & for those of you looking to be thrifty, the price (under $3) can't be beat.
