Inspired by Brian, @mrchick machoness (he use a straight when he travels) I want to attempt the same. I have a trip back to the motherland to visit my dad and want to bring a straight with me so I need some tips. I have a small paddle and a small loom strop I can bring with me, which would be better. How can I wrap it to protect the leather while it is in my suitcase? Any other tips?
Paddle. Rubber band the razor closed and then rubber band it to the paddle. Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
I actually use my Drygulch strop when I travel. I place the strop between layers of clothing and it travels well. If I was taking a paddle strop, I would wrap it in a hand towel and pack it. Have a wonderful trip Keith!
Keith, you also need one of those sexy leather razor cases like Brian has Where are you traveling to?
I will visit my Dad in South Carolina, I fly into Savanah via Atlanta. I have a leather case but not as sexy as Brian's.
I have a Herold adjustable loom strop. I take it with me on the road. It is fairly small, and works very well.
I was looking for something to use for traveling, when I came across this. The hone slides off to allow the razor to be carried inside. There's a felt strop under the leather portion.
I was thinking about taking my small loom strop, do you do anything to protect the strop in your luggage?
I still have the original box that it came in. I just slip it in the box and put it in my luggage. Works fine.
Rubber bands aren't good ideas, especially against plastic and other similar materials. If left for more than a short time, on some things, the latex can degrade. Wrap the razor and paddle, then put a rubber band around the wrapping, if you need it.
Leaving early tomorrow morning for the long trip back to Dad's house. I wanna be like Brian @mrchick so here is my straight travel kit.
Very nice! Now you just need a toothbrush, a change of underwear and a pair of socks and you're good to go. Safe travels!
Hey Keith: have a safe trip. Looks like you'll have a good jump on a 30 day focus by using one straight
