A quick question. I have been interested in trying the Perma Sharp blades normally oblained from Turkey. Has anyone had experience with them? I don't see much love on the forum

YMMV. For your info, they are made in Russia. Some find them rough, others find them super smooth.

I found them t be like an old garden hoe or the edge of brick, to be honest with you. They are cheap enough though, give 'em a go and see. Some really like them. Pick up some of the Rapira blades in the blue/black/pinkish-red wrapper while you are at it. I found them to be pretty smooth and reasonably sharp - dirt cheap too! Blades - the most subjective item in all shavedom. Cheers! -John

I think there are two Perma Sharps. The ones made in Turkey are bad.. But the ones made in Russia (cardboard box) some have compared to the Iridiums. I find the Russian Perma sharps to last 7 - 10 shaves, they can be a little rough on the first shave but the second to the 7th is awesome. ... I do though agree with BassTone those Rapira's in the Blue / Pink box are killer blades for the price.. As with blades YMMV. You got to try them and see if they work for you.

Understandable to think that they're from Turkey. It sometime seems that Turkey has 'Corner the Market' on razor blades. It seems that the only packages that I pickup from the Post Office is a 100 pack of some brand razor. How do they do it!

Interesting - that might explain things. Mine came in a white plastic dispenser in the style of the dispensers used by Dorco for the ST301's, but flimsy by comparison. I may need a re-do if I can source the good ones. Then again, I'm really loving the USA made Personna blades, so I might just stick with those for a while. Good to know, though! Thanks.
