I ordered the black Tuxedo knot,24mm, and was wondering for those that have them what did you set the loft at? I prefer natural hair brushes but have had a couple of excellent synthetics.
Mine is set at 52mm. Super super soft. But not floppy at all. Decent backbone. It is a great knot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I set mine about as high as it would go, and it still seems to have great backbone. The handle was drilled to 13mm and I used 2 quarters to set the loft if that helps.
I set mine at 56mm, and could go up to 10mm shorter. Very soft but that's the nature of this particular synthetic fiber. If you like backbone go deep.
I didn't read your post correctly. You ordered the black one. I have the Cashmere, the horse, and the Black & White, but I do not have the black. I do have a black Maggard synthetic. I set it at 51mm.
I set mine at 50 mm, 52 mm, and 54 mm. I like to bowl lather and I found the 52 mm and 54 mm work excellent. It was my experience that the 50 mm had a little to much backbone for me.
Thanks for the info. The one I'm talking about is the black one with the white tips. Sure I'll post a photo when it's done.
The ones I have are from AP Shave Co. out of Ottawa. Not far from my place. This one is set at 50 mm. Thunder in the area. I'll be online L8r.
Here are the other 2. The Ever-Ready 100 has a 54 mm loft and the Olivewood has a 52 mm loft. You can see how the 100 has opened up more, but still has good backbone.
