From the pic below, I finished the two on the ends. On the left, an Ever-Ready C40, and on the right, what appears to be a Rubberset.......... The Ever-Ready was opened up a bit to fit this Two Band Badger knot.......... And the Rubberset was also opened up a little for a 24mm Tuxedo knot. And painted a two tone red..........
Thank you Douglas. Those two plus the Opal in the middle kept me from getting bored this past weekend.
Very nice! I haven't tried putting my own knot into a handle, I admire your work. Maybe one day I'll try it, for now, I'm stuck using store bought. I'm not complaining, I like my store bought Rudy Vey, Rooney, & Whipped Dog, but I would like to try my hand at doing my own.
Very nice work Jim! Funny thing; as common as those Ever Ready (bobber) shaving brushes are; they're just a great brush! I like to bore them out to accept a 22mm knot and weight them with BB's. They feel great / substantial without being obnoxious. It's hard to have a vintage brush collection without owning at least one!
Personally I find BB's to light. I'm able to pick up stainless steel one's that are much heavier than BB's.
