A Boker Rastus I got today for $12.50

    A Bonsa for $65

I just wanted to share and see if I got a good deal on the Bonsa. The description was from the 1930's:)

Good deal on the boker, although it looks like it has a lot of hone ware. I've never heard of a Bonsa but it looks to be in great NOS condition. I'd say you got a deal for a razor that looks that nice. Specially if it sits straight in the scales and doesn't have to be rescaled.

I did notice what I thought was hone wear but it didn't look bad especially for what I paid for it.
I'm very much a new guy to this but I haven't heard of that brand either but it sure looks well made.

Although there is unever hone wear, the Boker can still be a very good shaver. It can be a 3/8 or 4/8 blade, if you like them that small.

The Bonsa-Werk is a very rare razor. Use it in good health.

Thank you for the info on the Bonsa. That Boker measures 4/8th inches so there is some wear but maybe I'll be able to get it even enough to be a good shaver. As I said for $12.50 I can't lose much:)

the boker looks to have major hone wear and will need some edge work, but the scales look great from this pic. as for the bonza, nice looking blade.

for you, ask yourself if you are okay spending the money. if so and you think you got a deal, then you did. enjoy them for many years to come.

for me, that is to much for the boker. lots of honewear and uneven edge to deal with. the bonza looks nice and may be rare, but i am not spending that much on a blade unless it is a big fat wedge.

enjoy them. i have some in my rotation that look much worse and shave great. i love them all and that is why they are there.

    good luck.

I thought about it pretty hard but since I just started I figured why not for $12.50. I can practice putting an edge on it etc and not be out much money if I mess up:)

    Thanks!
