I got two unused NOS REVISOR blades, made by C F SCHMIDT Solingen. I got 2 of these grandiose blades without handles. So i had to made one. I took some pieces of Cocobolo and... Here you are. Und hier das 6/8:
Yes, the spacers are brass. The 6/8 is sold... If anyone is interestet in the 5/8 - please PN BTW the 5/8 is a very rare one. Its made by the Master himself from Fa. Schmidt Solingen - ca. 1970. Watch the passage from tang to the blade. I dont know, how its called in English, in Germay its a "Ansatzhohlspiegel". Maybe someone translate it?
Direct translation would be something like "Beginning hollow glass (mirror)". In English it's the shoulder (if it's the place I think you're referring to). Very nice job on them.
Those are gorgeous! I am very partial to wood, if I had more money to throw around I would be looking for something just like this. As it is, though, I'm having to be economical so I'm probably celluloid-bound
Harry, das ist nur meine ehrliche Meinung, aber dieses Messer so schon ist, du sollst es behalten wie ein Sammlerstuck. Es ist zu schon um sich zu rasieren! Zum Wohl!
Very nicely done!! I always love cocobola scales. Anyone thinking of using it should wear a respirator. The dust is very nasty stuff to breath and in some people the dust causes skin irritation. When working with any wood be sure to read up on the dust dangers. I think cocobola looks better than original scales, give the blade a regal look.
well done what first class work the razors look first class wood scales ar nice and add a bit of class, im no good at this sort of work so well done you have talent sir,
