I got through with my shave this morning, got myself smelling all awesome, and then my dad screams at me to help with this:
    (Everyone was fine BTW)

Those can get out of hand so quickly. I have had to fight a couple of fires like that. One required a fire truck to come out and support (kids were playing with firecrackers in the dry field). I am glad the fire is out and no one was injured.

At least you looked good and smelled good for the fire...

We had a burn permit and the wind decided to start gusting like crazy.

We had to call the fire department out, it hit a brush line and took off towards a tree/brush line. We knew we were screwed then.

Glad you gained control, with the help of the FD, before it really got to the tree line in the back there.

Good thing the yard was the only thing burning and not your face as well! :p

Ha ha I smelled horrible afterwards though. The fire dept ran out of water 3 times :p
The grass wasn't the greenest in the first place, the wind picked up and it just shot off. Never knew fire could be so fast.

I'm glad it was caught in time. California is in a drought. We have red flag warnings, no wood burning allowed.

We're pretty dry in Mississippi too, but I guess the county hired new people... they didn't know it was going to be a windy day.... :S and we pay em :(
