Im headed off next week for spring break in Vegas. I can't wait. Now I just have to get through the test, 2 papers and film output for my 2 color press run before I can go . Any suggestions on what to do/see? We have tickets to Cirque du Soleil one night. We're also going to hit up Ghost Bar. I doubt I'll be able to get a straight shave at AOS, but I might try to pop in. My friends give me enough crap about my shaving as it is though. All I know is after 12:00 on Friday, its time to :: :: :: :: :: !
Uhhh....get married? :rofl Been to Vegas many times, even lived there. Never did anything besides work, gamble, and get married. :ashamed001
Cirque du Soliel is to die for.. I also loved the show with the Bengal Tigers, but I guess they are retired now. Best bet, just see who is in town., there are more shows going on all over than you can imagine.. you will find one you like. I quit gambling when I was going there and used my gambling alottment on the shows instead, and never felt I had lost... unlike when I was gambling. The mirage has dolphins out in back, ceasars swimming pool is a place I want to go to when I die, but instead of the waitresses in bikinis and high heels serving frozen drinks to folks floating on the pool, it will be the chippendales... There is an all you can eat seafood bar that is to die for at the Rio. Honey, if you can imagine it... it is there.. so let your imagination go and live your dreams! ::
I got married there too (on a gondola going down the canal at the Venetian no less)! :agelic13 We go back every year for our anniversary. Any of the Cirque shows will be terrific; We've been to Mystere and O and would go back in a heartbeat (particularly Mystere). Do try to pop into AOS at Mandaly Place--it has a cool "vibe" and your buddies might change their mind--and there are plenty of other interesting stores there to keep everyone interested (not to mention that it connects the Mandalay Bay and Luxor casinos). Truefitt & Hill is in the Forum Shops at Caesar's; the same comments apply. Will you have a car? If so you might consider visiting Red Rock Canyon and/or Mt. Charleston (Station Casinos just opened Red Rock Station on that side of town too, very nice place). For a grin 'n giggle you might check out M&M World, across from NYNY: four floors of M&M stuff, and a cool free 3D movie. The Strip is a great place to people-watch! --Mark
Blue Man Group The Amazing Johnathan The Shark Reef Penn and Teller Freemont street Don't forget to play some black jack!
Oh yea I forgot. If you dig costers...........New York New York and the Strat has a theme park at the top, The MGM also has a theme park. The Alladin has a great buffett, The Spice Market! Mark I have to ask, were you wetshaving then? or just going rugged for the wedding? :rofl BTW your wife is Amazing! good work!
No, that happened on a subsequent trip two years later, on our anniversary, after my wife saw a story about AOS on the Discovery Channel. She adores my face clean-shaven (was never really satisfied with me mowing my face with an electric) and bought me to a Royal Shave at AOS as an anniversary present: The results were so astonishing (it was almost three days before my beard "felt" like it normally did at the time, after a shave with an electric) that after we got home I picked up a Mach3, Williams soap, and a drug store boar brush. Then I started doing some internet searches and found MSN Wetshavers (really the only thing going at that time). And the rest...as they say...is history. Yep; I'm not complaining. --Mark
We wont be going to blue man group. Our list of shows was either Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group or Penn and Teller. We chose the first. Blue man group came through the state a few weeks ago. I didnt make it though.
Leaving for Vegas today ( well actually getting on the plane at early tomorrow morning. ) Wish me luck!
Well I just got back from Vegas yesterday. I had an awesome time. We cheked into the Circus Circus and hit the town hard. I got almost no sleep all week, but it was well worth it. Over the whole course, I think we checked out every major casino. My favorite by far was New York, New York. It wasnt the most impressive, but it had the best atmosphere (plus I won $150 there). There was a good mix of older and youger crowds, and the dealers were extremely friendly. Also, you can't beat live Irish music and Guiness on draft at the Irish pub "Nine Fine Irishmen". The Flamingo was also one of our favorite hang out spots. Cheap tables, great dealers, strong drinks and an overall good vibe. Ghostbar was also really cool. It is on the top story of the Palms. Out on the deck, you have an awesome view. We stepped into the Playboy club too but didnt stay too long because my friend blew $100 in 5 minutes on a $25 Roulette table. The Cirque du Soleil show we saw was Ka at the MGM Grand. It was absolutely incredible. The MGM is probably the most impressive of the hotels just because of its sheer size. I didnt make it into the AOS store. We went through the Excalubur, Mandalay Bay and the Luxor, but it was pretty late and all of the shops were closed. We also caught the show outside of Treasure Island. I definitely wasn't expecting what I saw. Everything I've seen of the pirate show is people swinging on ropes, fighting etc. This newer show was dubbed "The Sirens of TI" and mainly featured scantily clad women dancing and dropping sexual innuendos like its their day job. Not that I'm complaining . If you go with kids though, its definitely not PG. I'll hopefully have some pictures up soon.
Pics! Ok, here are a few pics from the trip: Out on the town the first night Relaxin by the pool (with a fruity rum drink) I met this really hot girl...too bad she was a billboard In the Venetian Outside of our hotel, the Circus Circus Fun at the Mirage
(But Circus Circus? *shudder* ) --Mark[/QUOTE] Ah, it wasnt too bad, except that it was on the very far end of the strip.
