I managed to pick this very rare razor up today (well it arrived to day, but I won the auction a couple of days ago) I am pretty sure this is NOT the original case for the razor, but its a nice substantial case that feels very solid. This is before I cleaned the razor After cleaning it looks sweet, (sorry for poor pic quality, light was poor.) my first impression is wow it feels solid, the handle width is wider than normal and the weight is a hefty 66 grams!! I probable wont use it until my day off, which is Sunday, as Im happy using my TV rocket as a daily shaver.
Congratulations, nice razor! I've been looking for a red tip myself; the ones in good condition are bringing premium prices right now on eBay. The last British red tip I had on my watch list sold for $228! I wonder if the US made and British made red tips shave the same?
VERY nice British Red Tip! I've never seen one before. The U.S. make Red Tip is my favorite razor. Congrats on the great find.
Ive no idea how the USA ones shave, but they do seem popular, I was not really looking for a Brit red tip ss, (As I didnt think I would ever win one at a good price) I will try it tomorrow.
The usual (very hot water, with fairy washing up liquid, soak) And then Cif bathroom mouse (same as scrubbing bubbles)
UPDATE. I tried this razor last night 27/10/2013 and WOW bbs so cant complain about that, very surprised at just how smooth a shave it was. usually when I like a razor I get a back up just in case, (yes call me paranoid etc...) I doubt I will get another one of these in this condition for little money, if one shows up that is.
