I now realize that I can actually do an all Gillette shave. Well, P&G anyway. It would consist of the following:

    AOS Pre-Shave Oil
AOS Sandalwood Shaving Cream or Gillette Pure Shaving Cream
    AOS Pure Badger travel brush
Gillette Slim Adjustable or New Deluxe or Old Type or Single Ring or NEW Short Comb
    Gillette Silver Blue blade
    Gillette Cool Wave Aftershave Splash

Ok, my witch hazel isn't P&G at all. I won't bother doing it though. I really hate the AOS brush. It was my first brush that started me on this road but it may be my scritchiest brush I have. Although my Edwin Jagger Best Badger brush gives it a run for the money as my worst brush. Both sit in a bin with the rest of my stuff in storage. And I like to save the pre-shave oil for travel. So, unless Gillette sells witch hazel, I'm there, in theory at least.

1949ish gold wash rocket in canadian case..have seen the 50/51 canadian sets on ebay..a gold u.s superspeed copy but without dates or patent #..just the gillette emblem.. 20190713_195219.jpg 20190713_195237.jpg 20190713_195249.jpg
it's hard to get the gold to show in most lighting with the camera..but its very thin and intact..the nickel plate underneath overpowers it..
nickel rocket of the same year.. 20190713_200645.jpg 20190713_200629.jpg 20190713_200616.jpg

The one I have is just like it. Does it say patent pending inside the razor?

hard to detect without the proper light.. england didn't have gold to spare after the war i guess..anyhoo ,u.s, gold gillettes had thicker gold plating, and i suspect plating over brass with no nickel underneath..still learning ..enjoy your gold rocket sir..
