First use of the 500 HD. 4th use of the Gillette Yellow. Endymion is my least favorite of the 3 Penhaligon’s colognes. Less spice, more floral. Prefer Halfeti & Sohan.

It's got a great weight and balance. I did find myself impressed by the way it handled.

DSC_1582.JPG DSC_1581.JPG And while using my new best razor blades ever. :) They're sharp as a blade and probably good for 20 shaves. (The old Gillette ad back in the day.) Actually, they are sharp, whereas I haven't used the "other" Gillette Platinum blades but these did cost more. :D The blades are blank on one side and lasered etched on the other and with an arrow as the slip jim pack blades were.

The other side (laser etched) of the blade. ;)

"Whereas I haven't used the "other" Gillette Platinum blades... ;) But they're sharper or as sharp as the "Gillette Silver Blue".. The Gillette Platinum in the blue box is as sharp of blade as I've used, Feather included. My opinion anyway. :)

Gary, you're the one who encouraged me to buy these blades whether you know it or not. ;) So tell me, have you compared both or all (3) or the Gillette Platinum blades that you have? Mine are from St Petersburg, blank on one side and laser etched "Gillette" on the other side with 2 arrows pointing each direction. This blade is every bit as sharp as a 7 0'clock Black or Silver Blue. It's as sharp to me as a Feather yet smoother. ;)

p.s. We'll see if we can turn this into a "We vs. They" kind of a contests. :p

i have yet to do a comparison between the 2 different platinum packaged blades.the blue boxed ones like yours are marked with the arrows, the blue/silver platinum boxed blades do not.the gillette silver blue blades feel a little smoother than the platinums on first shave..i will do a test between the 2 platinum blades. both are made in russia but have different markings on the blade.. we will see..

In the beginning I had no interest in trying another blade, I have all that I need ( 40 years worth ) yet I let myself get sucked into buying more blades. :sad027: I have no less than 10 blades that I could shave with FOREVER! But I'll have to admit, these Gillette Platinum would definitely be in the top tier of the blades that I use. I have (4) shaves on the first blade and there is no difference from the very first shave. We'll see, time will tell. Let's see, 50 x 20 = 3 years.. Better make my blades supply 43 years worth..:lyrtuy5:

Very efficient. I have only used the Astra Sp in it but it never needs more than 2 passes. Excellent razor.

i am glad you like it.when i go t my first one my technique wasn't the best so i did a focus with it ,really changed the shaves..i love em but part of it is in my head due to my brit razor obsession..great daily razor, with a solid handle like a ball end they are well balanced and are a treat..worth a try, any one will work..
