Oh one of my all time favourites...very nice indeed.

 

The 160 has officially taken overall lead after today's shave with the Ladas blade. This razor is that efficient it doesn't really matter the blade used. There is a difference but it is minimal unlike the other razors switching between the 2 blades.

Last razor is up next the US Goodwill 175 and then the finally tally on US made New and Newish razors like these 2 Goodwills.

25/03/19 --unplated new sc with tech fat handle..

thank you sir , was a fantastic shave..got a couple of old razors back from my buddy,.this sc was one of them. perfect shaver, just no plating left, i polished it at one time but it doesn't last long..

Very nice when they are polished. I have a couple like that. My 1940 tech for example.

 

First try! Loved it! Two passes really nice. One of many more to come I hope!

 

excellent , i have a thing for them,and have a few..they are great shavers..find the sweet spot and they are great with a sharp blade, awesome with spoilers..

 

I took a nick with this one. First run. But I’m really impressed. I may have to find some spoilers.

 

love the spoilers. 10 great shaves with my first one..the flat bottoms are a great workhorse razor,i daily with them when not playing with oc's .not the best or worst.. but way nicer than post war techs..imo

 

Yesterdays SOTD.

1930’s Tuckaway style New Deluxe razor + Bolzano blade. Trumpets GFT and vintage English Leather. A great shave.
When I got this razor set, it was pretty trashed. But with a good cleaning , some polish, and a new velvet liner it looks fantastic. For those of us who don’t know, many razors look beyond repair when we find or buy them. But a little amount of elbow grease, some polish, and often times a new liner, these old Gillette’s really come through in flying colors. And don’t be afraid to instal new velvet or replate any razor or case. If you are going to keep it, and you plan to use it, it will look great, and it’s easy to restore these cases. Real easy. You would be glad you made the effort.
