So I got myself a puck of the old stuff because my grandfather used it and I was feeling nostalgic. I realize now that neither I nor my grandfather knew squat about building a good lather. The thin watery soap I remember bears no resemblance to the cloud of lather I made now that I know what I'm doing. The only problem is the fragrance must have evaporated because I couldn't smell anything.

My grandfather would swirl his damp Ever Ready brush over the puck a few times and spread that unworked stuff on his face and start shaving. He would be amazed at the lather you can work up with a little effort.

Looks amazing. Definitely wanna try the vintage stuff someday. The new stuff isn't terrible, but not that great.
