Boredom and cash are dangerous for me LOL Seeing all these projects forum members have done inspired me to do a mini-project, if you will. Bear in mind I'm kind of good with craft type stuff, I'm by no means a skilled wood worker, stainer, etc. So I went driving and ended up stopping at Michaels and Home Depot. $20 later I ended up with the materials to make a small display box for my meager razor collection. It's simple, but for a first attempt, I'm not too disappointed with it. Here's the box after sanding and reassembly... Here it is after the staining... and here is the completed internal view... Later I will explore embellishing the outside a bit more, plus I want to add additional side hinges to hold the lid open and upright. Well thats it... now off to watch some old black & white serials lol
That's a heck of a nice case for $20 and a little bit of elbow grease! Please share more photos once you've completed the embellishments.
Thanks guys! It kind of made me a little sad tho too because it reminded me of when my kid was little. Almost every Sunday we'd go to the craft store and just buy random stuff and create something I miss those times... but I know it made her into the smart, creative person she is today! :rah:
I remember the time that boredom and cash got the better of me....It lead to a wife and a home. I really miss that cash, but as they say; a fool and his money are soon parted. Some days I really wish that I could go back and spend the money on shaving gear instead
Nice job, the stain makes it look great (sorta old looking)! I made one of these a while ago out of an old wooden cigar box. They are a fun diy project and very useful. If you want to make dividers in the, lowes or homedepot has small piece of wood that work great. I think I used poplar. Did that come with the mirror?
