My fathers Seiko from 1980s. Has a cheapy stretchy band that needs to be replaced as it is too loose. Maybe leather or rubber type diver band. Ordered a few cheapy chinese bands to see what I like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well update. I had ordered a cheap band for one of the citizen watches and sort of torn on the look. The old ban is cooler looking but the plating is worn in alot of places and the hue is more orange. The new one looks ok but looks dirty and a tad too brassy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've been called as much myself! When I taught about fossils, I began the discussion with "What is a fossil.?..and anyone who says"my science teacher" flunks".
A dear friend gave me his 1970 Bulova Accutron Deep Sea dive watch. lt is in great shape for a 50-year-old watch. I will get the movement serviced and replace the crystal, seals, battery, and strap pins so that I can start wearing it. I will probably put it on a Nylon strap. https://www.accutronwatchpage.com/ is a great resource for tuning fork watches.
Thanks Keith. It is on its way to Thailand for a spa treatment. I have a leather strap with red stitching in mind for it.
Where do you get them serviced ..... that's one of the main reasons I don't have many watches. I'm more than willing to pay to restore a watch and the watches I really like need work.
My 1970 Bulova Accutron Deep Sea dive watch was restored, and I placed it on a red Horween strap. I'm over the moon with it.
