I go to two different barbers, both give great haircuts. Their approach to aftershave applied following the hair cut is very different. One barber always uses barbasol pacific rush, it feels real good with a serious load of menthol. The other barber has a rotation that includes the following -clubman -clubman special reserve -clubman classic vanilla -clubman virgin island bay rum -pinaud lilac vegetal -jeris musk. I enjoy the variety of clubman aftershaves at that shop. So my fellow shave den dwellers, what aftershave does your barber use?
Well. Since I'm my own barber I use whatever I'm using for that days SOTD. I have moved in a new direction with my aftershaves, I'm using a lot more aftershaves that last longer throughout the day. Fine RazoRock PAA County Club Floid Folsom & Company
I like to have a mix of long lasting and short lived scents, just depends on the mood. My wife is somewhat sensitive to strong scents so I take that into consideration. I'm always happy when I can find a pleasant scent that isn't overpowering yet has decent staying power.
After a haircut and a shavette trim on the neck and around the ears, I get a dusting of Clubman talc.
Well, I don't go to a barber or use an aftershave since I'm a girl! Just to throw it out there, and not even sure it's available any more, but I have wonderful memories of my Dad smelling of Classic Old Spice and can still see the bottle sitting there on his sink. Now back to the original un-hijacked thread!
Thanks for chiming in, I too have great memories of old spice but for me it was my Grandpa. I would always sneak a whiff of old spice from the bottle on his dresser. Old spice is still available and a lot of men love it. There has been some change in the formula so some don't care for it as much as the old formula but it still is a wonderful thing in my book.
On the rare occasions that I visit a real Barber, my guy uses Clubman or Jeris Musk, and Jeris Hair tonic. When I so it all myself I rotate AS: Veg, Clubman, Osage HT: Vitalis, Clubman, Jeris Original
I'm not really sure as he smells of both tobacco and Listerine™ I'll ask him what he's wearing next time I see him.
I just went yesterday, and he used pinaud lime sec and some clubman talc. the real winner was the 18.21 pomade which smells like sweet tobacco and whiskey. Oh man is it a killer scent. I bought some, and will be solicting artisan soap makers to try and replicate it into a shave soap and aftershave.
My barber here in North Bend WA actually uses Clubman Talc....I haven't seen that in use for a while....My barber in Istanbul used Arko AS's...
