Looks awesome! I'm of the opinion why keep something I won't use, but that's just me.
Tough call. On a personal note i don't buy anything including antiques in my house unless i intend to use them.

i am of the same opinion and use all my stuff, nos or not but ... brush re knot or not?
i agree, this ones been asleep since the late 40s..why have it if you don t use it..i should try it with a blue blade. a truly 40s vintage shave..
Probably, I already have a good looking diplomat. I don’t really have anything in a collectors grade condition in my collection. I use everything I buy. I don’t keep things just to look at. I may just flip it but I’m may keep and use it though
I’ve tried blue blades and they are rough.
I would leave the knot. But prep it to use. I have a culmak that was nos that I use. It took awhile to bring that bristles back from being petrified and it works ok. Lots of soaking and use of conditioner
Perhaps worth noting even when new the (pre-war) blades may not have been so great. The two consumer research journals of the day did not recommend them.
maybe i will skip the blue blades. i know this razor will shave nice as i have one,gsb will do ,or maybe a spoiler..
will do, i brought back one similar using that technique and it works well. thought i would ask you more seasoned veteran razor collectors.. thank you for the advice..
2 bath soaps from SummerBreaks Soaps (both History101). ,,I'm planning on doing a Soap&A.S. purchase sometime this year, of the same brand, thus I figure the bath soaps will be a good "introduction" to it. I just put in the order now.
I hope there are at least a couple of 74's in that dispenser
Just arrived. Cant wait to try these

A couple of blade cases that I got at a pretty good price. One gold and one nickel......................
Waiting for the most expensive vintage razor I’ve purchased...so far, to arrive.
Also waiting on my Gillette Diplomat to arrive.

If you don't need the "15 Super" dispenser, let me know. I know of a Fatboy case that could make it it's home.
