We all know we love wetshaving and its associated products - but what other interests do we have? This excludes natural choices like spouse/family - and focuses more on; - do you collect anything, - do you have a favorite hobby, - passionate about a sport, - etc? Photos of your interests/hobbies/collections are greatly encouraged...as long as it PG rated List up to three if you have them. For me it would be; 1) Photography (love taking a camera with me anywhere I go), 2) Collecting older, fully manual film cameras (I got abut 40 of them...), 3) Vintage clothing (especially sports jackets/blazers).
I've tried to be a collector of a lot of different things most of my life. The one thing I've learned is that collections are a big PITA. And then you have to pack all that when you move. So, no longer a collector. 1. I'm a life long fan of movies. Because of that, I have met and know a surprising amount of directors and actors. 2. I'm a big fan of cycling. Not one of those guys that spandex it up with the $3000 bike. I think bikes are something anyone can do as they are. 3. I've got several that I'm considering for spot #3, since we've got a limit!
my top three hobbies are: 1) metal detecting, I have been an avid metal detector for the last ten years or so. I have three metal detectors. one for land, two for water. it's the best hobby I've ever had. and the only one that made any profit. the treasures I have found are really neat including hundred year old coins, gold rings into the thousands of dollars in gold, pounds of silver, maybe ten thousand pull tabs. it's great exercise, and I think it's fun. 2) fishing freshwater, saltwater. it's the bomb.I once caught and later ate a six foot hammerhead shark. five of my buddies have taken guy vacations to the keys. we took a thirty foot catamaran. fished and scuba dived for a week. brought home 120lbs of mahi mahi. 3) duck hunting I have shot ducks for twenty years or so. I think it's the cats meow. nuthin like setting out before daylight, setting decoys, and seeing the ducks fly in at dawn. it's cool to call the ducks into the blocks. taking that perfect shot and watching them fall. these are my three best hobbies, any more and I'd have to quit work to find time.
I have four interests. 1. My grandchildren. They are all adults now. 2. Photography. For the past 70 years. 3. Collecting antique and old cameras. About 250. No digitals. 4. Oil painting. No classes. No teachers. But I love smearing paint on canvas. I am a colour nut. - . I would love to include bicycling but I am too long past my "best before" date so that is out. Mickey
1. Huge concert goer. I've been to well over 400 live shows. 2. Camping/backpacking/hiking 3. Sports junkie. SF Giants. SF 49ers
a. working with my hands - carpentry, building & repairing 'stuff', charcuterie, cooking b. playing guitar -learned in college at age 19 to get girls; found my wife…. c. Illustrating & painting - got my initial degree in graphic design, planned on becoming a professional illustrator; still enjoy it. Obviously, my current condition with my left hand (CTS) has negatively impacted the majority of these activities for the past 6 months….
1. Drawing although it is a relativly new hobby 2. Sports Junkie too- My wife will tell you that I will watch just about anything sports related, which kinda got me in trouble with the wife. We were planning our honeymoon. we went to a few places including New York, and I found out that Baseball season would be ongoing whilst we were staying in the States. So i say to the wife "Hey we have to go to a baseball game while we are there." Now i barely know the rules of baseball at this point, I don't follow baseball, but still, Il have to go. This did not go down well. " do you think i want to watch sports on my honeymoon!?" or words to those effects, she was not amused, and i could see her point. But i definatly married the right gal, we arrived in New York Agust 12, my birthday, the day before she hands me a small envelope, Inside were 2 tickets for Mets V Giants. Plus she took me to a baseball shop to the Mets shop to get a shirt and cap. But then when we watched the game she wouldnt let me go to the toilet. I thought that newlyweds were clingy but this is a bit, strange. Anyway her desire to keep me with her during the breaks was revealed by the break of about the 5 or 6 innings. Up on the scoreboard there was a birthday message from here to me. Well done wifey. Ok back to the topic 3. Films - i have been a lifelong fan but unlike Mr Shaverman i haven't met lots of actors or directors. This was quite hard as i have loads of hobbies, i didn't realise until I did this, but these are the top 3.
1. Traveling. I still have to get to Australia and Antarctica and I'll have been to every continent. Top 3 places I visited are: Israel, Ireland, Italy. I want to take some sailing lessons and go across the Pacific sometime in my life. 2. The outdoors. I love camping, hiking, fishing, the beach, hunting, and boats. I want to disappear into the woods sometimes and get away from the world for awhile. 3. My dog. He's a mutt- half lab half American Pit Bull. I like spending time with him outside and taking him on road trips. He loves riding in the car and sticking his head out the sun roof.
My #1 hobby used to be metal detecting (relic hunting). But after three major back surgeries I had to give it up. So now I guess it would be: 1) Hunting 2) Shooting 3) Hunting
reading sailing (done that from my 4th year up to my 25th and would still do it if I could afford it...) watching movies (would do that more in cinemas if finances would let me but luckily there's Netflix )
