Feather and Kai are my favorites depending on the safety razor or shavette. Astra SP and Personna are pretty, but Japan seems to produce high quality razor blades and straight razors.
I think it's the US, Japan, and Russia. Some random Shark/Lord lovers for the LORD Corporation in Egypt.
I think India makes some pretty darn good blades. The Indian Wilkinsons come to mind as well as 7 O'Clock, Permasharp and Supermax. I've had good results from all these blades.
Guess it depends on what you think the best blade is, and as you know, blades are the biggest YMMV item in shaving.
Well if it were 1975 then it would be United States with the legendary Personna 74*, (nothing made today has come close to it including Feathers) Gillette Spoilers and Schick Platinums. Those three blades, if still produced using the same methods today, would blow away anything made today in performance and longevity. Forty years later in 2015 it is a toss up between Russia, India, Japan and Egypt depending upon what your criteria for best is, cost, sharpness, smoothness. and longevity across a number of products. So pick the one that works best for you regardless of point of origin. BTW: You can still toss in the United States with Personna Labs / Meds / Beauty blades.
Well I voted for Russia but I have a preference for Astra and Voskhod. Also a couple of the Rapira's (Ladas and PL) work well for me. Having said that, I haven't tried a lot of others so take my opinion on its merits. After finishing the 30 day in January I plan to take February and try a variety of blades including Feather and a few of the Indian made brands. And, one final note, I tried Derby for my head shave this morning, mostly out of frustration at my failure the past couple of times in that department. Surprisingly I may have found a winning combination. So for today at least one small vote for Turkey.
Russia and Japan, but I would go with the former as I just fine some of their blades smooth, sharp and long-lasting compared to the Japanese blades which are just too sharp. However, YMMV.
Looking at my stock, I get more Russian blades, 4 brands, second, German ones, 3 brands. Nonetheless the one I use more often is Personna red. Vote Russia. Astra and Rapira (Swedish steel one) are top notch, IMO.

I don't know. My current favorite blade is SuperMax Titanium out of India. I also really like Personna Lab and Med Preps (USA USA USA.) I used to like Russian Polsiver SI blades, but then they decided to betray me in all of my razors.
My favorite blade is Perma Sharp which started out in Turkey and ended up in Russia. I love all the Russians I've tried, and Derby. So I vote Russia & Turkey.
