1. That I should probably go one-and-done with every blade, all the time. Combining the fact that I am a head and face shaver with really coarse hair who favors a steep angle, I tend to go through blades rather quickly. I also have a secondary reason, as I struggle with folliculitis. My first 3 or 4 months of DE shaving, I tried to power through 2-3 shaves with each blade, as I assumed the problem was always technique. Now I'm 8 months in, and I've noticed over the past month or so that my shaves are always noticeably better on the first use of a blade, regardless of blade type and razor (all in the same Fatboy that I have been using all month). Coincidence?

  3. That's an interesting observation as I've never used one in an adjustable. I usually go 3 and out in any of my razors with them but can go 4 if necessary. The added blade exposure on the adjustable probably wears them quicker.
  4. The Super Max SP seems to be demonstrating that my problem with platinum blades isn't the platinum...it's the manufacturer. Super Max and Rapira platinums are great blades for me, the Gillette versions definitely not.

  11. I actually learned this a day or so ago. The Ladas works better in my Merkur 34c HD than in my Gillette Tech 46'-49.' The Astra SP works well in both razors with the Ladas edging it out a bit in the Merkur

  13. That I really missed using Clubman Original AS. Smells nice and feels nice. I've been using a topical antibiotic for a while, so I haven't been able to use the Clubman. I also learned that it pairs VERY well with Stirling Barbershop Soap. Today was the first scent compliment I've gotten from the wife in quite a while.

If you love Clubman and have never tried Stirling Barbershop, or you love Stirling Barbershop and have never tried Clubman, you definitely should. Awesome combo.
  14. Courtesy of Garry's Sample shop I today used Lucky Tiger for the first time - and realized that it really IS as great as others have claimed :)
I am really enjoying non-alcohol/non-mentholated products and this A/S splash has a great, very subtle scent and left my face feeling great.

To me it's very close to the properties of Provence Sante but at half the cost. I will be buying a full bottle.
