    Wow!!! you stole @ 5.47

If you look at gillete razors histororically it will make more sense. The double ring preceded it it (pic from a thread here)

I really want a double ring, an affordable one, hope to find one in the wild locally.

Yes it does, and yes, they are all straight. Also, the case, is actually one of the nicest I've seen, in a long while, especially the exterior.

There are a couple of tells with the case.
    1. Made In The USA: This seems to be more prevalent after 1917.
    2. The Rivets(or lack thereof): Gillette stopped using rivets on those cases around 1918. The Gillette Pocket Editions also went to the top 2-rivet cases around 1917.
    3. The 460 was made in various grades of Leather(460), a Nickel case(460B) with a Silver Razor, all Silver(460C), and Gold(460G).

The 1918 blade banks will have the "Diamond", not the "Words" on the cap. they will also be the same finish as the case(cardboard for the leather case). If it'sis silver, it will be "triple-plated", treat it as such.

That should be a great shaver!

Shoot, I'm just summarizing what I have read here, on Mr Razor's site, another site and interaction with other members as we compare our stuff and findings. It's taken almost a year and a half to know a little about some, not all, Gillettes.
An FAQ would be pretty awesome. We created a sweet one for the Beretta 81 Series on one forum using a FAQ Discussion.

Imagine having access to both questions and answers in one forum and subforum, while also creating an opportunity to collaborate over history and in real time. There are some of us who love research and find it rather cathartic.
