What does your significant other think of your shave habit?

My wife is quite amused by my shave habit. She just doesn't understand it. But then again, this is from a person who uses the bare minimum of grooming products and likes it that way. Lord, I've tried and will keep trying to make her see the light. She does get a little jealous when the packages come in and they are not for her. She just gets packages with $1000s of dollars of horse equipment to drool over and plot on how she can get her hands on some of it without me making a large fuss. You think I spend a lot on shave stuff? She's got me beat big time. So, in one way she's glad I have a hobby I can get into and enjoy that will keep me out of trouble but it still makes her scratch her head in wonder.

 

Rich-- My wife can't complain, because she got me into the hobby in the first place...heh heh.... Everyone once in a while she'll weakly protest a purchase I made, claiming it "excessive"--until I point to her collection of purses and shoes.

On the other hand, she definitely sees the benefits. She adores my BBS face, and I have suprised her on occassion by jumping in the bathtub with her and cracking open some Trumper's Violet or C&E Sweet Almond Oil with a big brush and shaving her legs. :ashamed001 :drool

SWMBO is thrilled that she has all these exotic

creams available with which she can shave her own bristly parts. She
loves the smell of the various floral creams, the slickness of the TOBS Avocado....LOL, she's even taken to mixing a l'il dab of Cremo-Cream it with her fav flav's 'n whipping it up real good....

So all in all, SWMBO is an "enabler" of the Shave Den in the Master Bath....

BTW - it all started with me whipping her up a batch of Badger Batter one time & slathering it all over her gam's 'n other parts with a high end Silver Tip.
She likes the silvertipping as much as the luxury creamin'....Since then she has learned how to beat up a warm batch of Badger Butter on her own & enjoys her shavin' as much as I enjoy mine....

Like they say THE FAMILY THAT SHAVES TOGETHER....sumtin...

 

I think we have already established that my girlfriend isn't overly enamoured with the world of wet shaving. She really doesn't like a lot of my preferred fragrances, she hates Hammam Bouquet, and I've already mentioned the Knize-jacking incident.
She struggles to understand how it's possible to get so obsessed with shaving, telling her there were whole on-line communities only increased her consternation.
Still, she bought me a 7/8 TI Damascus and a couple of Maestro Livi's (and I doubt there are many who can say that), so while she may not understand the hobby, or want me to discuss it in company, she's is happy for me to wallow in my AD inspired excesses in private. Also, there is never any need to hide my purchases from her either, she isn't even remotely bothered by all the packages that keep arriving.
So while I lack a willing accomplice, I don't have to hide my hobby from her (unless we have people over.)

At first she was intrigued, then concerned with how much I was spending until I pointed out how much she spends at MAC.:rofl

 

You get the good stuff from someone who doesn't understand what all the fuss is about? Lucky, lucky man!

My wife is amused. I tried to get her into the shaving with a brush and DE razor bit, but she shaves in the shower and just wants to get it over with with minimal fuss. Sigh. Then I got into the straight razors, and she was really amused. I guess she is just glad I have a (relatively) inexpensive hobby.

 

I never tried getting my wife into my secret hobby. I just noticed my AOS lemon was going faster than it should and then one day I caught her. She only uses the good stuff though. Her current favorite is my Santa Maria Novella shave cream, the priciest tub I have.

 

Mine doesn't say too much, but then again she has absolutely no idea on how much I have spent on this hobby.

Of course she does insist on using one of my B&B Finest Silvertips as a make up brush, she says it feels nice.

My ex-girlfriend really liked it since I had such a smooth face every day. A lot of the girl friends I have either find it funny or are slightly creeped out by it. Either way, I hear none of the complaining about how I smell.

 

Lacking a girlfriend I don't have any problems in this department
