On December 20th, 2009 I was blissfully shaving with my Edge and Fusion. My partner at work gave me a brush, a cream, and a soap and asked me to just give it a go. Now 5 weeks later my passion continues to grow. I am extremely grateful to those on this board who have encouraged and helped me. Well, you yould try it with "honey, look, I won't have to buy more stuff for a few years". Fast forward a few years: "honey..." "hahaha"
Fortunately my wife is an antique collector and knows the disease well. She actually got me started on ebay. I now get more packages than she does! She actually sells stuff and I'm not willing to part with any of my new treasures. Much of this was just given to me by family and friends when they heard about my new hobby. I have to give special mention to my barber (my son is the 4th generation in our family who goes to him) Frank who has given me some great pointers as well as that straight edge and a still unidentified soap. He learned how to use a straight edge in Italy in the 50's. I still have not gone in for a shave but plan on it very soon. Can anybody tell me how to put a pic directly in a post rather than just a link to it?

damn straight. anyone who goes into this thinking they are going to save money esp on the blades are sadly mistaken. ive spent more in the past year than i normally would in a couple years of using box store products.

Two Red Tips but only one SE razor? Yes, there's a problem, you don't have enough. Maybe you can bribe your wife with one of the Lady Gillettes, though.
I've got two SE-both Ever Ready. I've been trying to get my wife to start using the Lady Gillette. She says she'll try it one day. I think she's waiting until she runs out of her pink plastic toy razors. My daughter tried my Merkur and liked it. I think she's going to use one of the Lady Gillette's when she runs out of her toy razors. I was hoping they'd both claim one of them and join TSD... My one concern is that I'll start having to search for my brushes, creams, and soaps.
