What Ikon handle?

I found a sweet deal on an Ikon B1 Deluxe Standard (SB) razor, but I'm not sure yet if I am going to have a choice in handles. Sometimes you get to choose, but other times it comes with an OSS. I've looked at the Ikon handles and I think I'd like to get the Bulldog, given a choice, but how is the OSS? Should it be a deal breaker?

I prefer the bulldog style over the longer handle and use it on all my razors.

To further complicate the decision making process I know a guy who is selling an ATT R2 Atlas at a good price. It is like brand new and barely ever used, but still costs a bit more than the Ikon which is brand new. The ATT is the head and handle that I would choose. The Ikon is the right head, but I don't know about that handle.

I had the R2 and wasn't a huge fan of the head. It shaved nicely and the M2 was more my speed, but they have tiny little posts to secure the blade that were difficult for me to use. I really did like the ATT handle though and often think about getting another handle from Stan. If you get it at good enough of a price, chances are you won't lose anything if you decide that you don't like it.

Overall, I am not a fan of Greg or the ikon offerings. I have had 5 of his razors in the past and the quality control was questionable. I posted a critical, but not negative review of his razor and he blocked me from purchasing anything from him. I still have his tuckaway handle which I like, but won't be buying or suggesting his razors to my friends. You may have better luck with them, than I did.

    Good luck on your search.

:thanks: I've heard others say similar things about Greg. Stan, on the other hand is well liked. However, his razors don't seem to be for everyone. They are beautifully made and I think most people who get them love them, but there are also many who say that they get a good shave, but just don't like the feel.

Just got word from the vendor that they sell the Ikon with the OSS and they don't have any other handle options. The deal is $90. If I have to buy another handle the deal obviously gets less sweet.
