Tomorrow I leave for Macau for a few days of R&R, which razor should I take with me? Slim AI shavette, uses 1/2 DE blade Feather DX Generic Japanese straight, western grind Ikon SB
My own personal travel set includes a Feather AC SS folder. And a Gillette Slim... A straight shave on the road without stropping. This is how the Feather AC became an indispensable part of my shaving arsenal.
It's Macau. Safety razor may be in order. But, the need for smooth being high on the list in Macau: Joris and your fave blades, QC soap (luck), and the most expensive AS you got. And since you'll be up all night... See above
I'd go with a shavette. If you ding the blade it's easy to drop in a new one. Unless you plan on taking all your str8 maintenance gear.
I voted the de. I figure you'll get great easy shaves for your time of refreshing. Then you'll feel good and look good too.
I'm a scent n00b. Haven't tried the Fredrick Malle Musk Ravaguer (now have too ), but the Eau Sauvage is GTG!
Late to the party, but I'd take only a razor that I wouldn't mind losing, having to turn over to authorities, or getting damaged. TSA and friends (baggage handlers, other security, etc.) are not known for their gentle handling of things.
