If this is in the incorrect location, request a moderator to please move to the appropriate thread..thanks. I am using Photoshop Elements 12 for editing and then go to PhotoScape to resize. Please let us know the software you are using. We are seeing some pretty neat photo editing on SOTD. Is any of the software "shareware/freeware"? PhotoScape is freeware as is GIMP (which I am trying to figure out how to use). Thanks much.....
I use a combination of Irfanview and http://www.online-image-editor.com/ to do my SOTD photos. With Irfanview, I crop and sometimes auto adjust colors. I then open in http://www.online-image-editor.com/ and do fancy (not real fancy, just a little). These are for tomorrow.
Nothing fancy for mine, Droid Bionic phone, google photo editing. Fairly limited, but its what I can do.
I use Snapseed, which is a Google product and free, on my phone. It's Android but I believe there's an iOS version as well.
I load them onto my desktop in Microsoft Office Pictures. It allows most required editing. I do use Photoscape though for better editing. It is easy to use and of course....FREE. I upload all my photos to my Photobucket account and just insert the PB links in my posts here. I can do it quicker than it takes to explain it. I run a 4,500 member Message Board, so the Photobucket account is a must for me. I resize all of them to 640 pixels wide. Our Prickly Pear is in bloom right now in south Texas.
Adobe Creative Suite 6 Professional—the software suite of applications I use everyday at work. Been using Photoshop since its debut back in 1990. The majority of my images require some manipulation—generally the results are what I would describe as 'quick-n-dirty' renderings where broad filters and color adjustments are applied to increase both the interest and drama of a particular image. Nothing too difficult or involved ( maybe 3-5 minutes of photo adjustments) to achieve the effect or mood I'm after in the image. The raw images are 36x48"@72ppi (3456x2592 pixels)(25.6MB), sampled down considerably to 860x650 pixels (9x12").
My photo SOP: 1. Microsoft Photo Gallery. It's limited but does what I need. 2. Microsoft Paint for adding text. 3. Upload to Photobucket, where I add frames and any final FX or tweaks. 4. Copy Photobucket's code for posting here. 5. Feel ashamed of my pics whenever I see Kevin's.
PhotoScape Be sure to use advanced settings when installing and run Malwarebytes or a similar program after installing keep and to get any unwanted programs out of the system. Select no additional offers and uncheck any boxes that have these as a default. http://download.cnet.com/PhotoScape/3000-2192_4-10703122.html
I use IrfanView to crop and resize any pictures I post here, and put any text in the post rather than on the photo.
All thanks for the response. Looks like we have varied software. I love to see the various picture compositions and creative ideas.
